FUUAST marks Sindhi Culture Day

KARACHI: Sindhi Culture Day was celebrated by Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology –FUUAST’s Department of International Relations at Abdul Haq Campus here.

The students presented Sindhi classical plays (such as Umar Marvi, Momal Rano and Sassi Pannu) containing different hues of Sindhi literature.

Conspicuous among others at the Sindhi Culture Day event, there were President of Sindhu Vaas Foundation Kuldesh Ahuja, Chairman of Roshnai Welfare Organization Mir Ashraf Ali Mengal, Chairperson of Sindhu Vaas Foundation Anita Panjani and Zakia Talpur of Karachi College for Women.

Also seen were Professor Syeda Atiya Hassan of St Lawrence Girls College, Chairperson Urdu Department FUUAST Dr. Yasmeen Sultana, International Relations Department President Dr. Asghar Dasti, Sindhi Department’s Dr. Seema Abro.

Dr. Abida Ghangharo, Pakistan Studies Department Chairperson Dr. Kehkashan Naz, Political Science Department Dr. Rani Aram, Dr. Abdul Malik, Campus Officer Riyadh Memon,  Waheed Chang and Dr. Bashir Kalhoro also participated.

M. M. Alam is a Pakistan-based working journalist since 1981. Karachi University faculty gold medalist Alam began his career four decades ago by writing for Dawn, Pakistan’s highest circulating English daily.
