G.M.Jamali Secretary General PFUJ assures journalists’ support to Boxer Amir Khan’s endeavor to serve humanity

KARACHI: General Secretary Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) G.M. Jamali has assured the visiting WBC Silver Welterweight Champion Amir Khan of full-fledged support of journalists’ community and particularly PFUJ.  He was addressing a Press Conference held here on Wednesday at Pearl Continental (PC) Hotel.

Speaking to the media Amir Khan informed that he was venturing to raise funds for construction of two wells in Thar under the banner of Amir Khan Trust. He said that the trust will also endeavor to hold international boxing matches and build relevant infrastructure here.

Presently, Amir Khan is accompanied by seven European Middle Weight, Bantam Weight and Cruiser Weight boxers. Fighters include Tasif Khan, Gallagher Dayle, Jody Maddox, Francis Peter Douglas Croes, Haroon Khan and Phil Townley.  Their Fund-Raising bouts are scheduled to be held tonight (dubbed as Fight Night) at PC. Aficionados are chipping in by buying tables for Rs. 150,000 each.
