KARACHI: Ghulam Nabi Memon (a BS-21 PSP officer) has been appointed as IGP Sindh for the second time by the Federal Government on Sunday (24th March, 2024) though his name was recommended by the Provincial Government twenty days ago.
According to the notification issued by the Cabinet Secretariat Office: “With the approval of the federal government, Mr Ghulam Nabi Memon is transferred and posted as Provincial Police Officer (PPO), Govt. of Sindh, under Section 10 of the Civil Servants Act, 1973, with immediate effect and until further orders.”
It may be recalled that Ghulam Nabi Memon, who was appointed as the IGP Sindh in 2022, was removed by the caretaker government that replaced him with Riffat Mukhtar Raja. It is pertinent to mention here that Ghulam Nabi Memon, after his removal as IGP, had been serving as an Executive Director of State Life Insurance Corporation.
