Government has prioritized TB as a major public health challenge: President on World TB Day




ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain urges all sections of the society to overcome the TB challenge with shared responsibility on World TB Day which is being observed today on March 24 (Thursday).

In his message, the President said: “Government has prioritized TB as a major public health challenge and every effort is being made for its prevention and control.

PM Nawaz, in his message, said Pakistan is responding proactively to the pressing need for effective control of Tuberculosis by adopting WHO-endorsed guidelines in National Strategic Plan for TB.

“The government’s endeavours for making Pakistan a progressive and developed country cannot succeed until we achieve a diseases-free society,” the PM said.

World TB Day is being observed to build public awareness and intensify efforts to control Tuberculosis.
