Govt focusing to launch more welfare projects: Minister

ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan Friday said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government was taking steps to provide all basic facilities to the poor through different welfare projects like Shelter Homes and Naya Pakistan Housing Society.

Talking to a private news channel , he said under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the country was on the right path of progress and prosperity.

He said when PTI government came into power, the biggest challenge was to settle the country’s economy, besides managing the huge balance of payments crisis.

He said unfortunately, the national wealth was looted badly during the previous regimes of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz and Pakistan Peoples Party and transferred it abroad through their money laundering networks.

Replying to a question, he said there was no National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) for the looters during tenure of PTI government and they would be held accountable to bear the brunt of their deeds.

Responding to another question, he said government was in favour of ongoing accountability and ensure the rule of law in the country by putting the corrupts behind the bars.

To a query, he said there was an increase in the foreign investment in the country due to the honest leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf adding foreign investors now felt their investment was now safe in Pakistan.
