Should Govt. make lung disease care a priority?

MEHWISH

WALES:  New research reveals that the number of people dying of tormenting lung disease Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) has doubled.

IPF is an irrepressible condition in which scar tissues develop in the lungs making  breathing difficult. IPF mainly targets the older adults and causes deaths by 60% in men.

The study found that almost 32,500 people are suffering from this disease which kills nearly 5,300 people a year.

“These figures show more clearly than ever that tackling IPF needs to be made a priority” Dr Penny Woods, CEO of the British Lung Foundation.
