ISLAMABAD: Finance minister Ishaq Dar, who also heads Pakistan Bureau (PBS) of Statistics, has approved a schedule for holding population and housing census after some seventeen years in the month of March, 2016.

According to the PBS governing council, preliminary results will be completed by June this year and district-wise data will be compiled by December 2017.

This data will be used by ECP and political parties for the 2018 electioneering.
