GSK to lower vital drugs prices for Pakistan

LONDON:  Britain’s prominent drug maker GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) has adopted a positive policy of lowering medicines prices that are unaffordable by many developing countries.

GSK will file a patent with lower middle-income states including Pakistan, Kosovo, Morocco and Ukraine. That that will be licensed deals and will allow them the supplies of generic version of its medicines for 10 years.

GSK says the measures will be beneficiary to 85 states, 2 billion people and to Africa notably.

Any medicines affirmed in the list of vital drugs by WHO will be automatically included.
