Gunmen twice target Supreme Court Judge’s Lahore house!

LAHORE: Unidentified gunmen fired shots – in two separate incidents only hours apart – at the house of SC Judge Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan here last night and this morning.

According to details the first attack took place at 10.45pm last night  while the second firing took place at 9.10am. A  9mm bullet casing was found in the veranda of the house last night while another was found near the kitchen.  However, no casualties were reported.

After the attacks CJP reached Justice Ijaz’s house and summoned Punjab IG, who has been asked to investigate the incident. CJP is monitoring the matter himself. Shahbaz Sharif, CM of the province, while asking IGP to submit a report, ordered immediate arrests of the attackers.

Cynics are trying to find a connection between the attacks and the fact that Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan is the  monitoring judge of the ongoing corruption references against Sharif clan, filed by NAB in an accountability court. They are also trying to figure out why the attack came just days after SC gave its historical verdict about life-time ban on Nawaz Sharif.
