Gwadar lands investors make ten-fold profits

GWADAR: As it transpired that China was serious apropos investing $57 billion in the CPEC project, the property prices in the fishing town augmented ten folds.

Those who had acquired large tracts of land over there and waited for years are now making tenfold profit by means of selling it.

Proud to be Brand Pakistan has organized a meeting here facilitating brainstorming on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.

Athar Iqbal, founder of the Proud to be Brand Pakistan, told NewsPakistan.TV that the forum has been organizing different events for the last three years.

Speaking about the brain-storming session on CPEC Athar Iqbal said that since entire business community was interested he was looking for somebody who could brief them properly about the Corridor. He requested Commodore Akbar Naqi to talk about the subject.

Optimistic that feedback received from the business community during the huddle would benefit CPEC, Athar Iqbal said during the course of meeting it transpired that private sector investment was nonexistent.  He opined that with the involvement of private sector better prospects would evolve. Following the meeting Commodore Akbar Naqi while talking to NewsPakistan.TV said it was a good briefing for the business community and some good results are also expected from it.

Terming CPEC as a game changer for the region Commodore Naqi said it will contribute towards the progress of Pakistan.

Maintaining that participation of business community is necessary for CPEC’s development he said it will be very advantageous for industrialists who can build infrastructure and develop industries.

Terming Gwadar the main component of CPEC Akbar Naqi said: “We must realize the importance of sea for us as 90% of our trade and 96% imports of fuel is carried out through sea”.

Akbar Naqi, while pointing out that Pakistan needs cargo as well as ferry service, told that Aqeel Karim Dhedhi has shown interest in this respect. Masood, Member of Proud to be Brand Pakistan, terming the said meeting as informative, noted that many aspects that are not highlighted in Pakistan were discussed here.
