Haider Zaidi’s ‘original JIT on Uzair’ questioned

KARACHI: Sindh Govt. Spokesman Murtaza Wahab in his rejoinder to the claims of Ali Haider Zaidi (Fed. Minister for Shipping & Maritime Affairs)  apropos the alleged omission of information in the Uzair Baloch JIT report presented by the Provincial Govt., demanded the source of such documents.

Murtaza Wahab pointed out that the Sindh Govt. had said that it would make the JIT reports public and it had fulfilled that promise: “We showed the documents with all the signatures. The official documents, with all the signatures, don’t show any such thing.”

It is pertinent to mention here that Ali Haider Zaidi had alleged that PPP leadership was implicated in the ‘original’ JIT reports. Addressing a Presser regarding notorious Lyari gangster Uzair Baloch, Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Haider Zaidi had leveled serious allegations against the Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) leadership.

Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Haider Zaidi said that the PPP leadership including former president Asif Ali Zardari and his sister Faryal Talpur had used Uzair Baloch for their own benefits and against their rivals. Uzair Baloch’s head money was scrapped on instructions of Faryal Talpur and Asif Zardari. Why a president who claims that he has no relation with Uzair was interested in saving a gangster?” said the minister.

“Nisar Morai has confessed to his involvement in three murders and fled Pakistan on the instructions of the PPP in March 2016, and Uzair Baloch has confessed to murdering more than 150 innocent people, his involvement in ethnic cleansing and fomenting violence in Karachi,” Ali Haider Zaidi went on to accuse.

One may recall that Sindh Govt. had made three JIT reports (Uzair Baloch, Baldia factory incendie and Nisar Morai) public following controversy and litigation. Last week, Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Haider Zaidi, while speaking in the National Assembly, had claimed that he had the evidence to expose PPP-P’s criminal activities.
