ISLAMABAD: As Dil Dil Pakistan-famed Junaid Jamshed, draped in white apparel sporting long black beard, came out of Benazir Bhutto International Airport’s lounge late Saturday night a few fanatics lurking there pounced on him and hit repeatedly.

They accused him of committing blasphemy.

The group consisting of a couple of clean-shaved boys in jeans and another two three bearded men encouraged each other by raising slogans and asking to hit him.

Junaid Jamshed had to take refuge in the lounge.

Readers may recall in December 2014 a DJ directed registration of a blasphemy case against him when he uttered something in one of his televised sermons that was reckoned blasphemous about one of the wives of Holy Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).

Junaid Jamshed went into hiding and later rendered an apology.
