Handwritten lyrics of Beatles fetches $910,000

NEW YORK: Aficionados’ enthusiastic bidding to get Beatles’ handwritten lyrics manifests that despite passage of decades the artists still live in their hearts.

The successful online auction bidder paid $910,000 for the rare manuscript. According to details Paul McCartney’s handwritten lyrics to the Beatles’ hit song Hey Jude fetched 9 times its original estimate at Julien’s Auctions.

Music specialist of  Julien’s Auctions had described the notes for a 1968 studio recording of Hey Jude as very rare and valuable: “It’s obviously a very iconic song that everyone’s familiar with. These handwritten lyrics were used in the studio as a guide when they were recording it.”
