KARACHI: Rampant increase in the incidences of robbery in the properties, on the streets and roads of Defense Housing Authority (DHA) and Clifton areas here have unleashed a wave of panic and terror among the residents of this so-called posh area.
Innumerable victims are calling the media houses regularly to report occurrences of snatchings all over DHA and Clifton. The Citizens say that Police is not seen performing their duty at all.
According to residents the only duty Policemen are seen doing is stopping motorcycle riders and truck drivers forcing them to grease their palms.
Surprisingly, many channels and newspapers offices are located in DHA and Clifton area and their staffers, cameramen and reporters move under constant threat of getting looted.
In the latest such incidence at 10.30 PM Saturday (8th April) a cameraman and sub-editor of a media house have informed this reporter that they were held at gunpoint by two robbers riding a motorcycle right on the main Korangi Road at Phase II in front of efu building.
They were deprived of their valuables right on the main road as Police was not seen anywhere.
