‘I will return to Pakistan after treatment’, says Musharraf

DUBAI: Former President of Pakistan Pervez Musharraf Friday said he will come back to Pakistan after his treatment.

This, he said after landing in Dubai on Friday morning.

“I am not going abroad for lifetime, I will return after treatment and face the cases against me,” he said while talking to the media at his residence in Dubai.

Musharraf left the country early Friday after the Supreme Court upheld the Sindh High Court decision to keep his name in Exit Control list (ECL) on Wednesday.

He was permitted to leave the country after his lawyers told the Supreme Court he needs urgent medical treatment not available in Pakistan.

“Six to eight weeks are required for the treatment and then he would go back home,” said Dr Amjad Malik, a spokesman for Musharraf’s All Pakistan Muslim League party in Dubai.

“He will stay in Dubai for some weeks and then leave for United States for his treatment,” said Malik.
