ICC has nothing to do with PSL match-fixing investigation

DUBAI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has made it clear that it was not willing to involve in the investigation into a Pakistan Super League (PSL) match-fixing scandal.

The corruption scandal in the ongoing PSL emerged on Friday after Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) suspended Islamabad United players Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif under its Anti-Corruption Code.

The suspension came as part of an ongoing investigation into an international syndicate which is believed to be attempting to corrupt the PSL.

According to an ICC official, the investigation of players involved is the PCB’s internal matter, but the ICC can help if asked.

“The allegations are related to the PSL and ICC doesn’t have the jurisdiction to get involved in domestic matters or events of a member until requested,” he said.
