ISLAMABAD: Former 1st lady Bushra Bibi is leading the conveys from different parts of Pakistan that commenced moving towards D-Chowk on Sunday (24th Nov, 2024) and has resorted to slow march towards Capital (due to resistance from the government forces/barricades/ditches on their way) and thus will reach their destination in three days.
Speaking to the marchers she said on Monday (25th Nov, 2024): “I will stand firm until my last breath. You must stand with me, and even if you don’t, I will continue because this is not just about my husband; it is about this country and its leader…I don’t just hope; I am certain that the Pashtun people are a proud nation, and they never abandon their support until the very end.”
Despite IHC’s orders (that termed PTI’s planned protest march and dharna at D-Chowk) unlawful, huge number of cops/para-military Rangers (duly equipped to tackle mobs), dug out/blocked roads, mobile/internet suspension, convoys had commenced moving towards the Capital (from Punjab and a number of places in KP, including Peshawar) on Sunday (24th November, 2024).
While, para-military force (Rangers) has been deployed to guard the Red Zone, IG Islamabad Ali Nasir informed the Media here on Sunday that 300 PTI supporters/workers had been nabbed from the Capital who sneaked in the city before it was hermetically sealed by means of containers.
The administration had imposed Section 144 (from 18th till 26th Nov), suspended Metro Bus Service, dug roads, placed thousands of containers on major arteries in order to stop PTI marchers from entering the Capital to stage a sit-in demanding release of Imran Khan and other incarcerated party workers.
It may be recalled that Imran Khan on 13th Nov had given the Final Call asking his supporters to converge at D-Chowk (Islamabad) on 24th Nov to protest against:
1) Stolen mandate;
2) Unjust arrests; and
3) The way 26th constitutional amendment bill was passed which he said had strengthened a “dictatorial regime”.
