A2Z with G M Jamali: CM Murad Ali Shah orders registration of 19 FIRs against 6 officers

KARACHI: Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, taking notice of the evidence recorded by E&ACE regarding malpractices in Land Utilization (LU) Dept,  has stated that was sufficient to establish the fact that such malpractices started off in 2018 and continued until removal of Secretary LU on 30th August 2019.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah ordered: “All allotments/regularizations/exchanges/location-changes robkaris outlined above effected by Land Utilization Department and/or other responsible officers/officials after Honorable Supreme Court’s ban are hereby cancelled/revoked.”

Chief Minister has further ordered that  previous status shall be restored of only those lands (allotments) which were approved in bona fide manner by the Competent Authorities before the ban on transactions was imposed i.e. November 2012.

Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah has directed  Senior Member, BoR to submit compliance report within a fortnight positively with regards to: i) Retrieval of land fraudulently obtained/allotted/regularized by officers/officials in a deceitful manner and in violation of policy and Honorable SCP ban; ii) Restoration to the previous position in case of lands which were allotted in a bona fide manner by the Competent Authority; iii) Forfeiture of the Challan amount paid by the parties to obtain land in question illegally/fraudulently in active connivance of officers/officials.

Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah has further ordered to place the matter of proceedings against the officers/officials responsible for these malpractices before ACC-I for decision on urgent basis.

As soon as it transpired by the Anti-Corruption Department’s report that 411 acres of land were illegally regularized or allotted, Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah ordered cancellation of all such challans, registration of FIRs and initiation of inquiry against the concerned 6 officers.

On the recommendation of Anti-Corruption Department Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah had ordered registration of 19 FIRs against the three former members Land Revenue (Danish Saeed, Aftab Ahmed Memon, Ghulam Mustafa Phull), former DC Malir Qazi Jan Muhammad, former assistant commissioner Bin Qasim Ghulam Haider Chandio and Agha Siraj former assistant commissioner revenue Bin Qasim.

According to details:

1) Danish Saeed (the then Secretary Land Utilization, Board of Revenue, Sindh) was found  involved in Illegal Regularization of 159 Acres and Illegal Allotment of 6 Acres of Land;

2) Aftab Ahmed Memon (the then Secretary Land Utilization Board of Revenue Sindh, presently in NAB’s Custody) was found involved in Illegal Regularization of 36 Acres and Illegal Allotment of 132 Acres of Land;

3) Ghulam Mustafa Phull (the then Secretary Land Utilization, Board of Revenue Sindh, presently in NAB’s custody) was found involved in Illegal Allotment of four acres of land;

4) Agha Siraj (the then Assistant Commissioner Revenue Bin Qasim) was found involved in Illegal Allotment of 20 Acres of Land;

5) Ghulam Haider Chandio (the then Assistant Commissioner, Bin Qasim) was found involved in illegal allotment of 36 acres of land; and

6) Qazi Jan Muhammad (the then DC Malir, presently incarcerated) was found involved in Illegal Allotment of 18 acres of land.
