KARACHI: A 30-year-old prayer leader (Imam) Shafiqur-Rahman was shot dead by helmet-wearing gunmen riding a bike here Friday evening.  The small mosque is located in a middle-class milieu apartment building’s ground floor.

Separately three (apparently) religious scholars were shot and killed in the same district.

According to Jamshed Quarters Police, in yet another act of similar crime, two men were critically wounded by gunmen. They were taken to Civil Hospital where one of them – identified as Mohammed Amin 30 – expired. MLO has informed NewsPakistan.TV that condition of  another man –  in his 40s – was also grave. Later he too  succumbed to injuries.

Sources insinuated that same weapons were utilized to carry out the three assaults within 60 minutes. Forensic tests have later confirmed that same weapons were used by militants belonging to a banned extremist outfit to murder six people within an hour.

A hand grenade too has reportedly been hurled near a school in Singo Lane Lyari injuring fifteen people including two women.
