When CJP, informing Imran Khan about agitation carried out by his party workers all over Pakistan after his arrest, asked him to condemn the violent manifestation.

Police here had brought Imran Khan to Supreme Court of Pakistan at 5.46PM Thursday (11th of May, 2023) on the orders of the Chief Justice.
Three-member bench of the SCP, headed by CJP Justice Umar Ata Bandial, that was hearing the appeal against PTI Chairman’s arrest by Rangers on the instruction of NAB, had ordered IGP Dr Akbar Nasir Khan to produce Imran Khan by 4.30 PM before it today (Thursday, 11th of May, 2023).
The three-member bench comprising besides the CJP, Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar and Justice Athar Minallah earlier heard PTI Chairman’s plea against his arrest in the Al-Qadir Trust case.
Imran Khan’s lawyer Hamid Khan told the bench that his client had approached IHC for pre-arrest bail, but as he was getting his biometrics done he was arrested by Rangers who entered the premises by shattering the windows, breaking down the doors and misbehaved with the former premier.
CJP, rejecting the request of Attorney General to adjourn the hearing till tomorrow (Friday 12th of May, 2023) said that arrest from the court premises would not be tolerated and the order in the case would be announced today (Thursday 11th of May, 2023).
The Court asked the concerned authorities to make sure that no political supporter enters the courtroom nor any new lawyer or journalist (other then those who are already in) comes in.
Earlier, the CJP while noting that NAB had been involved in political engineering in the past, asked why it had acted against the law while arresting Imran Khan: “Why did NAB take the law in its hand? It would have been better for NAB to seek permission from IHC registrar.”
Maintaining that no one could be nabbed from SCP, High Courts or Accountability Courts, the CJP criticized storming the IHC by 90 ranger personnel to arrest Imran Khan.
CJP further said that the court was taking the matter extremely seriously as the manner Imran Khan was arrested could not be defended.
