Imran Khan says PTI will transform Karachi with 10-point agenda!

KARACHI: Aladdin Park is the venue where PTI Chairman Imran Khan has said today that his party would change the Metropolis with his ten-point agenda.

Terming karachiites the most politically mature populace in the country he said that Karachi was Mini-Pakistan and the country would rise only when the Port City would prosper.

Calling Karachi the economic hub of the country that generates 70% of the national revenue, Imran Khan pointed out that it lacked water. He said that under PTI government Mayor would be elected via popular vote and only a powerful mayor would be able to solve such problems.

Moreover, he said uninterrupted power supply would be ensured and electricity theft would be contained: “We don’t care what K-Electric is doing because it’s the government’s responsibility. We will take this responsibility and provide cheap electricity. We will end power theft.”

Noting that Karachi used to be a secure place in the past where tourists used to spend their holidays, Imran Khan said that the politics of hatred had been deliberately infused here to get votes.

He said that PTI would depoliticize Police and there would be no need of Rangers. Citing the IGP he asked that how could those who paid to get themselves transferred or posted maintain law and order?

Claiming that there were no extra-judicial killings in KP he said that extra-judicial killings would be contained in the Metropolis: “Officials like Rao Anwar, it is said, have murdered 440 people and Asif Ali Zardari showers praise on him. Who ordered Anwar to kill people?”

Pointing towards the founder of MQM he asked how he could be concerned about Mohajirs while living in London for the last three decades. He said that Mahathir had strengthened institutions and united the populace of Malaysia.

He said that PTI would make education accessible to the masses and establish universities of International standards. Imran Khan, while talking about the provision of employment to the youth said that PTI would establish technical training centers for them.

Noting the dire state of Sindh hospitals Imran Khan said that PTI would provide better health facilities to karachiites: “We have replicated SKH’s model in KP’s government hospitals. We will do this for Karachi’s hospitals too.”

He said that PTI would make sure that sewerage and waste management system of the Metropolis was improved: “There is no system of sewerage here. Fishes are dying and fishermen are worried. We will clean our water.”

Informing that his shadow minister Asad Umar for finance was already in contact with businessmen, Imran Khan said that PTI would create an environment that would encourage foreign investment: “We will do all we can to bring businesses back so our youth could get jobs. We will improve industrial sites and give easy loans too.”

He said PTI would provide sports facilities to karachiites and establish grounds and parks: “We have such a huge city and no playgrounds. Boys here play on streets. Karachi has had so many stars. What’s the reason that that production has stopped? We will build grounds. We created 100 grounds in KP. I promise we will do the same here.”

He said that PTI would grow trees to contain environmental pollution here: “Remember that Pakistan will be the seventh most affected country from global warming. We planted 1 billion trees in KP. We experimented in KP, learned from it and now we would do the same in the entire country and make it green.”

Noting the transport problem of the Metropolis he said: “There is so much traffic here. Circular train will help.”
