NEW DELHI: India has restored the News Account of Reuters (having 25 million followers all over the world) on X Sunday (6th July, 2025).

It may be recalled that in response to a legal demand the official X handle of Reuters had been withheld in India midnight. X maintained: “In our continuing effort to make our services available to people everywhere, if we receive a valid and properly scoped request from an authorised entity, it may be necessary to withhold access to certain content in a particular country from time to time.”

Those attempting to open the Reuters’ X handle came across the message: “Account withheld. @Reuters has been withheld in IN (India) in espouse to a legal demand...X stated: “At this time, we are no longer withholding access in India to your account.”
