LINE OF CONTROL: Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor has informed that nine Indian soldiers were shot dead and their two bunkers were destroyed when Pakistani solders responded to unprovoked indiscriminate firing from across the border today.
According to details six people (including women, young girls and a soldier identified as Lance Naik Zahid) were martyred and nine got wounded when Indian troops resorted to indiscriminate and ruthless shelling from across the LoC in Azad Jammu & Kashmir.
Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider stated: “Indian forces in occupied Kashmir have gone berserk. In overnight ruthless shelling they have martyred 6 civilians and wounded another 8 in Muzaffarabad n Neelum districts. This is the height of savagery. The world must not stay silent over it.”
Taking to the Twitter Director General ISPR Major-General Asif Ghafoor held: “Indian unprovoked CFVs in Jura, Shahkot & Nousehri Sectors deliberately targeting civilians. Effectively responded. 9 Indian soldiers killed several injured. 2 Indian bunkers destroyed. During exchange of fire 1 soldier & 3 civilians shaheed, 2 soldiers & 5 civilians injured.
“Targeting innocent civilians by Indian Army is an attempt to justify their false claims of targeting alleged camps. Injured civilians evacuated to District hospitals. UNMOGIP as well as domestic & foreign media have open access to AJK, a liberty not available in IOJ&K.
“Indian Army shall always get befitting response to CFVs. Pakistan Army shall protect innocent civilians along LOC & inflict unbearable cost to Indian Army. Indian lies to justify their false claims & preparations for a false flag operation will continue to be exposed with truth.
“Indian Army struggling to pick dead bodies and evacuate injured soldiers. Indian Army raising white flag. This they should think before initiating unprovoked CFVs and respect military norms by avoiding to target innocent civilians.
“Two more civilian casualties succumbed to injuries. Total 5 civilians Shaheed. Indian guns silent as of now to undertake evacuation of their dead and injured after effective and befitting response from Pakistan Army.”

Deputy Commissioner Muzaffarabad informed that Indian shelling from across the LoC began before midnight and it was the heaviest so far in 2019. Pointing out that the Indian troops used field artillery he informed one of the shells pierced through a house in Nosadda village, leaving two family members dead and two injured. Those who lost their lives were identified as Haji Azam and his son Rafaqat and the injured were identified as Rafaqat’s mother Roshan Jan, 55, and daughter Kainat, 4. Haji Sarfraz, son of Ghulam Rabbani was killed and Nargis, 45, wife of Irshad was injured in the Veryu Village.
In Nauseri sector, Liaquat Khan, 35, from Swabi, and Faisal, 30, from Taxila were killed when a shell dropped near their tent on a link road. They used to work as laborers at Panjkot Road. Shabbir, 38, son of Yaqoob and his mother Begum Jan, 60, were injured in Kanoor Village of Nauseri sector.
Sources in the Police informed that a resident of Loralai, identified as Zafar Khan, 45, was killed in Jura village and a woman and three young girls were injured in Islampura village. They were identified as Robina Bibi, wife of Abdul Ghafoor, Rashima Bibi, daughter of Abdul Ghafoor, Khizra Bibi, daughter of Abdul Qayyum and Zarqa Manzoor, daughter of Manzoor. Injured are currently being treated in Military-administered hospital.
Due to Indian shelling 43 shops, 53 houses, six vehicles and three motorcycles got damaged. Videos posted by the residents on social media shows that Indians had fired tracer munitions as well that are cannon caliber projectiles built with a small pyrotechnic charge in their base. Ignited by the burning powder, the pyrotechnic composition burns very brightly, making the projectile trajectory visible to the naked eye during daylight and very bright during night time firing.
Foreign Office of Pakistan has strongly protested the unprovoked violation of ceasefire by Indian troops and relevant correspondence has been handed over to the Indian chargés d’affaires who was summoned at the FO.
Meanwhile, rejecting the Indian Media claims about targeting of alleged camps, DG ISPR held: “Get access to IOJ&K & have moral courage to cover damages caused by Pak Army. All your previous claims met their fate so shall this one. Follow journalistic ethos of Pak Media for reporting with responsibility.”
Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan, Special Assistant on Information and Broadcasting, addressing a Presser in Multan today, has condemned the Indian attack and pointed out that Pakistan Army had given a befitting response to the Indian aggression.
