Iranian President’s brother nabbed on white-collar crime charges

TEHRAN: According to Deputy Judiciary Chief of Iran Gholamhossein Mohseni Ejeie, younger brother of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, Hossein Fereydoun, has been arrested on charges of financial crimes.

It is pertinent to inform here that a number of investigations have been conducted regarding the President’s brother. As a result of those probes many landed in jail,

Failing to secure the bail issued to him on Saturday (15th of July) he was sent to prison.

Fereydoun was accused of receiving zero-interest loans and influencing the appointment of a bank director (who was later sacked).
