WASHINGTON DC:  Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan, during his US visit, has noted that Islamophobia was at peak in US and “Muslims have been targeted by US presidential candidates during the election campaign”.

Speaking on the occasion of the opening of a  Turkish-sponsored mosque and religious complex here he pointed  out that countries like Pakistan and Turkey themselves were targets of terrorists’ attacks.

“Unfortunately we are in the period of rising intolerance and prejudice towards Muslims in the United States and the world. It is absolutely unacceptable to make all Muslims pay the price for the pain and horror”, he added.
