PESHAWAR: The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan’s (TTP) splinter group Jammat-ul-Ahrar claims the responsibility of suicide attack on the district court in Shabqadar district.

Hours after the attack, TTP spokesperson Ehsanullah Ehsan released a statement which claimed the responsibility.

“We are responsible for the attack on the district court in Shabqadar,” read the statement.

Upon being asked to justify killing innocent civilians, the spokesperson replied:

“We have not killed civilians. The court and judges were our target as their practices are un-Islamic.”
