BONDI BEACH (SYDNEY): One of the two gunmen, who killed 10 Jews and injured 29 others (including 2 cops) here at a Jewish ceremony of lighting candle on the 1st day of Hanukkah (14th Dec, 2025), has been neutralised.
People have posted a number of videos showing two men firing heavy guns in order to kill beach goers. In other clip a man is seen pouncing on a gunmen and snatching his weapon.
According to details, the second shooter was taken to a medical facility in critical condition. The attack on Jews is being treated as an act of terrorism by New South Wales Police Commissioner, who told Media that an IED had been recovered from the shooters’ car.
King Charles stated: “Our hearts go out to everyone who has been affected so dreadfully, including the police officers who were injured while protecting members of their community…In times of hurt, Australians always rally together in unity and resolve. I know that the spirit of community and love that shines so brightly in Australia – and the light at the heart of the Chanukah festival – will always triumph over the darkness of such evil.”
PM Anthony Albanese said that emergency responders were on the ground and working to save lives. Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar stated: “These are the results of the anti-Semitic rampage in the streets of Australia over the past two years, with the anti-Semitic and inciting calls of ‘Globalise the Intifada’ that were realised today.”
UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, taking to the X stated: “I am horrified and condemn today’s heinous deadly attack on Jewish families gathered in Sydney to celebrate Hannukah. My heart is with the Jewish community worldwide on this first day of Hannukah, a festival celebrating the miracle of peace and light vanquishing darkness.”
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said: “The United States strongly condemns the terrorist attack in Australia targeting a Jewish celebration. Antisemitism has no place in this world. Our prayers are with the victims of this horrific attack, the Jewish community, and the people of Australia.” UK PM Keir Starmer maintained: “UK will always stand with Australia and the Jewish community. The news that the Bondi beach attack was an antisemitic terrorist attack against Jewish families at a Chanukah event is sickening.”
French President Emmanuel Macron, noting that antisemitic terrorist attack struck families gathered to celebrate Hanukkah, said: “We share the pain of the Australian people and will continue to fight relentlessly against antisemitic hatred, which hurts us all, wherever it strikes.” It is pertinent to mention here that Australia has recently recognised the state of Palestine.
