Journalists protest outside Express TV office in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Media-Workers converged in front of Express TV offices here to protest against the forced sacking and non-payment of dues. 

Conspicuous among others there were President Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) G M Jamali, General Secretary PFUJ Rana Muhammad Azeem who raised slogans for the rights for Media Workers. In order to apprise Chairman Senate Committee for Information Senator Faisal Javed Khan of the Media-Workers’ predicament (i.e.: forced sacking and non-payment of salaries) President PFUJ, GM Jamali called on him. Senator Faisal Javed Khan, reiterating that PTI Govt. strongly believed in the freedom of expression and speech, informed that Parliament was aware of the grave predicament Media-Workers were going through currently. Senator Faisal Javed Khan not only assured that the matter would be put up before the Parliament by means of a Resolution, but Prime Minister Imran Khan will also play his due role in order to assuage the adversity of Media-Workers.

President PFUJ GM Jamali also held a detailed dialogue with PML-N’s Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed and updated him apropos journalists’ economic assassination by Media House Owners. RUJ’s Shakeel Ahmed (President), Iftikhar Mashwani and Naeem Sindhu were also present during the meetings.
