K-Electric’s CEO booked as boy dies of electrocution

KARACHI: K-Electric’s CEO Moonis Alvi and other senior personnel were booked after a 19-year boy died due to electrocution here today. 

According to details the victim (identified as Faizan)’s uncle (rickshaw driver Fayyaz) had stated in the FIR, registered  (under Section 322 – manslaughter) at DHA PS, that  the deceased, associated with transport business,hailed from Mansehra and drove to the Metropolis on Monday (10th of August, 2020) to spend the night at his home.

Today he died due to electric shock near a KE substation in DHA area. Since there was no barrier to stop it  the current traveled through the accumulated rainwater and claimed his life.

The complainant has accused K-E’s officials (CEO Moonis Alvi, distribution head Amir Zia, Sr. Security Officer DHA IBC Faheem and Asstt. Mgr. DHA Owais) of negligence, carelessness and lack of precautions.
