Kaira claims agencies helped Nawaz in winning elections

LAHORE: Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) leader Qamar Zaman Kaira has claimed that the agencies always helped the deposed prime minister Nawaz Sharif in winning elections.

Addressing the media outside Bilawal House here today, Kaira said that Nawaz has always tried to form personal ties with institutions.

“Nawaz Sharif thinks when he is in power, there would be no damage to the democracy,” he said, adding that, “Now that he has been disqualified, he’s saying that democracy and the system in the country is about to collapse.”

The PPP leader said democracy in Pakistan faced no threat and his party was busy preparing for the next elections.
