Karachi’s Beach Avenue named after Abdul Sattar Edhi

KARACHI: Defence Housing Authority has decided to rename the Beach Avenue on Seaview in DHA Phase VIII after Abdul Sattar Edhi, a prominent philanthropist of Pakistan, in recognition of his legendary services to the humanity.

According to details, the Executive Board of DHA in a meeting chaired by its President, Commander 5 Corps Lt Gen Naveed Mukhtar decided to rename the DHA’s Beach Avenue as ‘Abdul Sattar Edhi Avenue’.

The decision was made in recognition of Abdul Sattar Edhi’s unforgotten efforts for human beings.

Speaking on the occasion, Corps Commander Karachi Naveed Mukhtar said that the renaming of the avenue as such is a befitting tribute to the great voluntary and ascetic services of Mr. Edhi which are acknowledged worldwide.

The Administrator prayed for the health, long life and well being of Abdul Sattar Edhi which he said was the voice emanating from the heart of every true Pakistani in the country.

DHA’s Beach Avenue is the most popular road of the metropolis which is frequented by the people coming to the sea in a large number for entertainment and relaxation.
