PARIS:  Kashmir Solidarity Day was observed here at the French Embassy yesterday in a dignified manner.

On the occasion members of France-based Pakistani Community expressed their unwavering support to Kashmiris for their just struggle for the right of self-determination as promised to them by various resolutions of United Nations Security Council (UNSC). A large number of France-based prominent members of Pak-Kashmiri communities, French civil society representatives and Media persons converged at the congregation. Pakistani Envoy Moin-ul-Haque, while speaking on the occasion, highlighted the event’s significance and apprised the participants of the continuously deteriorating human rights situation in Indian Occupied Kashmir. The Ambassador underlined the importance of resolving the Kashmir dispute in accordance with UN resolutions and aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Envoy called upon the Government of France to play its role as a member of the UNSC in resolving this long outstanding dispute. He said that Pakistan would continue to extend its diplomatic and moral support to the Kashmiris. Kashmiri and Pakistani community leaders while speaking passionately about the valiant struggle of the people of Indian Held Kashmir, condemned the atrocities being committed by the Indian security forces. They called for the support of the international community for the peaceful resolution of the dispute as envisaged in the UN resolutions. A French researcher and a French Journalist also highlighted the Kashmir issue.

Regrettably, notables of France-based Pakistani-Kashmiri community lamented that the diplomatic post here, in order to impose favorites on the community, totally precluded those from the event who had vehemently struggled for the cause of Pakistan and Kashmir for long.
