Killer of Governor Salman Taseer hanged

RAWALPINDI: Adiala Jail was the venue where Punjab Governor Salman Taseer’s confessed killer Mumtaz Qadri was hanged till death this (Monday) morning.

Punjab Police commando personnel Qadri was  one of the body guards who were supposed to protect the Governor.

But radicalized Qadri, irritated by the thoughts of Salmar Taseer against ‘blasphemy laws’, shot him dead on January 4, 2011 in capital’s Kohsar Market.

Observers believe the infiltration of fundamentalists in law enforcing agencies  is a matter of grave concern.
