PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Minister for Agriculture and Livestock, Mohibullah Khan Wednesday said that small farmers were being provided loans on soft conditions to enhance their production capacity in a better manner.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony of the two-day Livestock & Poultry Farmers Convention here at Charsadda Road, he directed for introducing of modern agricultural techniques among the farmers.
Those present on the occasion were included members of KP Assembly, Asif Khan, Pir Fida advocate, senior officers of the Livestock Directorate including Dr. Sher Mohammad, Dr. Mirza Ali Khan, Dr. Khisro Kaleem, Malik Ayaz Wazir, Alamzeb, president, Livestock Farmers Association, Asif Awan, patron-in-chief Dr. Ghufranullah, president Veterinary Doctors Association, Habib Khan, Syed Sardar Badshah and farmers from across the country.
The minister also inspected different stalls established by livestock, fisheries and agriculture departments, banks and multi-national companies and appreciated the performance of the concerned stakeholders.
Later, addressing the convention, the provincial minister said the agriculture and livestock play a crucial role in economic stability. Therefore, he said Prime Minister Imran Khan in the 100-day plan has directed focusing on the development of these sectors.
He said the provincial government was addressing the problems of small farmers on a priority basis as they play in the fulfilling of the domestic food requirements and going forward towards self-sufficiency in food items.
Mohibullah Khan said that similar conventions would also be organized at divisional level to create awareness regarding livestock.
