PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government here Tuesday unveiled reforms and projects completed during 100 days plan in 26 sectors including preparation of draft legislation for LG system, improvement in the police system, civil & judicial reforms and extension of Sehat Insaf Cards to merges tribal districts.
Unveiling major reforms, strategies, and projects completed under 100 days plan of KP Government, Finance Minister Taimour Salim Jhagra and Information Minister Shaukat Yousafzai told a press conference that 100 days plan would serve roadmap for next five years of the government.
Salim Jhagra said draft legislation for the strengthening of the local government system, strengthening of police force, judicial and civil service reforms, provision of jobs for youth and development of tourism would help provide direct relief to people.
Jhagra said Sehat Insaf Card would be extended to the tribal district and the facility would be provided to all deserving tribal families. He said efforts are underway to implement Sehat Insaf Card plan in the next three months.
He said financial empowerment of youth was the top priority of the Government and Rs5 billion were allocated for the provision of interest-free loans to youth to get dignified jobs.
He said new labor policy was thoroughly reviewed and would be implemented in letter and spirit.
Government is promoting tourism and 20 new tourists sites were identified in the province that would generate revenue viz a viz jobs for youth, he said.
A procedure of issuance of licenses for the establishment of businesses would be made easier to promote investment and bolster infant industries.
KP Revenue Authority is being strengthened to enhance tax base and special awareness campaign in public for tax collection would be launched.
He said Bank of Khyber (BoK) has been made apolitical, in resultant its profit increased during the last four years.
He said energy sector is the top priority of PTI Government and Centre has assured to provide arrears of Rs36 billion under Net Hydel Profit by end of this year.
Special facilities would be given to investors in the economic zone at Rashakai near Nowshera that would be made a model economic zone.
Special projects and reforms for the uplift of agriculture, clean water, horticulture, and livestock would be introduced that would directly benefit the common man.
To decrease the load on major hospitals in Peshawar, he said, services at BHUs, Rural Health Centres and existing DHQs hospitals would be improved and strengthened to provide better health facilities to patients at their doorsteps.
Instead, to construct more hospitals, BHUs and RHCs, he said facilities in existing hospitals would be strengthened.
The focus was being made on the promotion of primary and secondary education and learning programs at schools level would be improved. Conditions of schools in tribal districts would be brought at par with KP schools for which a comprehensive mechanism was chalked out.
A special plan was chalked out for the provision of clean drinking water for Peshawar, climate change and digitalization of file work.
The Minister said bureaucracy are extending full cooperation to PTI Government in the implementation of these projects on the ground and those showing leniency would not be shown the door.
He said change can’t come overnight and time will be required for implementations of all these projects.
Jhagra said media should avoid speculations and hype regarding 100 days plan and guide nation about true realities and achievements made during 100 days plan by the PTI Government.
