PESHAWAR: Adviser to Chief Minister for Education Ziaullah Bangash Monday said that the education department has proposed Rs 180 billion allocation in the fiscal year 2019-20 for the education sector.
Talking to media here at his office, he said that Rs 20 billion has been proposed for the education sector in the merged district, adding that Rs 4 billion would be spent on the development of these areas.
He said early education program would be initiated in 10,000 schools during the fiscal year 2019-20, while second shift school program would be extended to merged districts and other 25 districts of the province to make all the children of the province literate.
He said second shift, rented building schools and up-gradation of schools projects would be initiated for out of school children while scholarships, basic facilities for students at schools, accelerated learning program, voucher scheme, and other important projects would be launched for school going children for their encouragement.
He claimed that the enrollment target was achieved successfully and for new enrollment drive new incentives would be given.
Ziaullah said that an independent monitoring unit would be extended to merged districts and soon IMU would be raised as an authority.
