Let’s have a match: SRK ‘challenges’ Javed Afridi for a three-match series

MUMBAI: Bollywood superstar and co-owner of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Shah Rukh Khan has invited the Pakistan Super League winner Peshawar Zalmi’s owner to organize a three-match series.

In a telephonic conversation, SRK congratulated Javed Afridi on PSL win and offered a series between the winners of T20 leagues at a neutral venue, possibly in Dubai or London.

However, Afridi said, the series will be organised after permissions from Pakistan Cricket Board and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Javed Afridi said he received congratulatory messages from Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, Shah Rukh Khan, Sanjay Kapoor, and Gulshan Grover.

“President Ghani has invited Peshawar Zalmi to visit Kabul, which we have accepted and would meet the president in summer this year,” he added. ‘All the big names including Shahid Afridi would be with us.’

Zalmi can play a role in bringing peace between Afghanistan and Pakistan and cricket has the power to bring the people of two countries closer, Afridi said.
