LHC allows Shehbaz Sharif to go abroad on medical grounds

LAHORE: LHC has granted permission to PML-N’s Shehbaz Sharif here today (7th of August, 2021) an one-time permission to go abroad on medical grounds during a hearing to remove his name from the government’s Black List.

Pleading his case Shehbaz Sharif had shown a return-ticket to London and stated that earlier too he had gone to UK and returned. Convinced, the court granted him permission to fly abroad from 8th day of May till 5th day of July. The Court in its 6-page ruling stated that Shehbaz Sharif’s name was not in the ECL and  even if his name was in the Black List he would not be stopped from travelling abroad for medical treatment.

LHC in its interim order maintained: “Dispensation sought for is allowed subject to all just and legal exceptions…Keeping in view the past conduct and travel history, the fact that name of the petitioner is not in Exit Control List (ECL) at the moment, the name of the petitioner in blacklist, if already placed, will not stop the petitioner from one-time visit to UK from May 8, 2021, to July 3, 2021 for his medical checkup as per his personal commitment made before this court.”

Reacting to the LHC ruling Federal Minister for Information & Broadcasting Ch. Fawad Hussain has taken to the Twitter to post image of a Rs. 50 Stamp Paper pointing out: “Shahbaz Sharif had submitted this guarantee to the court to get Nawaz Sharif out. Now, instead of giving notice to Shahbaz Sharif for furnishing fake guarantee and calling Nawaz Sharif back, Shahbaz Sharif himself is being sent out.”

Fawad  stated: “We will take all legal steps against the decision. The Prime Minister has pointed out the weaknesses of our justice system many times but the opposition is not ready for reforms and the main reason is that their interests are attached to this rotten system.”

Information Minister Ch. Fawad Hussain wondered: “Allowing Shahbaz Sharif, involved in money laundering of billions of rupees to go out is a joke with the law. Such a quick decision is not even taken in the Panchayat. It will be unfortunate if he manages to escape in such a way. Question is what happened to the guarantee he had furnished for Nawaz Sharif’s return? “ | YouTube Channel
