COAS Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa visits the ISI HQs

ISLAMABAD: COAS Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa visited the ISI HQs here on Monday (18th of October, 2021).

He was received by the DG ISI Lt. Gen. Faiz Hamid. Following the briefing apropos internal security and the ongoing situation in Afghanistan, COAS expressed his satisfaction over ISI’s alertness. Cynics go haywire to note that despite announcement by Army about appointment of Lt Gen Nadeem Ahmed Anjum as the next ISI chief, a notification has not been released by the civil government.

This has allowed the opposition (particularly PML-N) to insinuate that removal of incumbent ISI chief will harm the Fed. Government. It may be recalled that Vice President of PML-N Maryam Nawaz, while addressing a rally at Faisalabad on 16th of Oct, has accused the PM of making mockery of the Army to keep his ‘master’ on the seat. She said the PM disagreed with the appointment of Lt. Gen Anjum because that would result into end of his govt.
