KARACHI: Newly promoted Maj. Gen. Omer Ahmed Bokhari has taken charge as the Director General Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) from Major General Mohammad Saeed who has been posted as DG (A) Dte Gen ISI.

CM Punjab rejects rumours of his removal



CHICHAWATNI: Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar inaugurated wheat harvesting campaign at Chak 69/12-L Kamand Chichawatni on Tuesday.

He launched the campaign by cutting wheat plants with traditional sickle and thresher.

Addressing the wheat harvesting campaign, he expressed that rumors of changing CM Punjab are baseless as the parliamentary leaders have shown full confidence in me. Those who will not show performance will go home, he added.

He further said “I am real servant of people of Punjab”, adding that a comprehensive plane is being implemented to develop South Punjab.

Buzdar said that water canal issue will be resolved in the province.

He said the present government is providing more funds for provision of water to farmers.

Chief Minister Sehat Insaf Card is being distributed and the government will provide Ramzan Package -2019 across the province.

Buzdar said the government will buy all wheat from farmers and Rs130 billion for this purpose have been allocated

Opposition’s tactics to stop accountability process will not succeed: PTI leader



ISLAMABAD: Member National Assembly (MNA) Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Riaz Fatyana on Tuesday said federal government would bring reforms soon in criminal and civil procedure courts aiming to provide justice in time to masses.

While appreciating the Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal, he said Javed Iqbal believed in justice for all and always supported merit as judiciary also hailed his strong character and bold anti-corruption steps.

“If someone will be involved in corruption then definitely NAB is independent to take actions against the alleged persons”, he said.

“If the oppositions will propose suggestions for the amendment in constitution it can be considered”, he said adding, opposition needs to understand that all the serious matters required serious behavior as well, he said.

He stressed that the country was already facing various national issues which needed to be addressed but the non-serious attitude of opposition in the assembly were generating more problems rather then solving them.

Economic revival topmost priority of government: President



Pakistani expats strong bridge between Pak and KSA

KARACHI: President Dr Arif Alvi Tuesday said revival of country’s economy was the topmost priority of the present government.

He was talking to a delegation of businessmen, called on him in Karachi, a press release issued by media office of the presidency said.

He said the government was striving hard in that regard and results would be yielded soon.

He underscored that the government was taking feasible steps to ensure business and investment friendly environment as it was cornerstone for the economic progress and prosperity of the country.

He stressed the industrialists and businessmen to focus on export-oriented products as increase in exports was pivotal for the economic stability.

He said the country had been facing numerous challenges for past few years which had also affected the business community across the country.

He appreciated the services of business community towards the development of the country and hoped that they would continue playing their proactive role with the same zeal and zest in order to further uplift the economy of the country.

The delegation apprised the president regarding the functioning of district chambers and offered few recommendations for improving economic structure and business environment in the country.

The president assured the delegation of his full support.
