KARACHI: A large number of Media Workers converged in front of Sindh Assembly Thursday (7th of February) to stage a sit-in protesting against forced dismissals and non-payment of dues.
Office bearers of various journalists’ organizations, while addressing the protesters strongly condemned the Media House owners for sacking the journalists and non-payment of salaries.
This was the fourth phase of the journalists’ protests that is gaining momentum day by day. On Wednesday a protest camp was established at M.A. Jinnah Road at the entrance of Nawa-e-Waqt. From there the protesters walked towards Business Recorder Road to protest in front of Aaj TV office. Earlier a sit-in was staged in front of Jung/Geo offices at I.I. Chundrigar Road.

PM Imran Khan condoles deaths in Hazarganji blast
QUETTA: Prime Minister Imran Khan arrived in Quetta today to condole with the heirs of Hazarganji blast victims.
As per details, the prime minister met with the heirs of the blast victims individually to express his condolence on the deadliest attack on the Hazara community.
“We stand firm united with the people, who lost their loved ones”, PM Khan said while expressing his views with the Hazara community.
During the meeting chief minister and governor Balochistan were also in attendance.
At least 20 people, security personnel and children among them, were killed and 48 others wounded in a suicide attack at the Hazarganji fruit and vegetable market in Quetta on Friday morning.
Darul Sehat hospital executive director resigns
KARACHI: Darul Sehat Hospital executive director Dr Shahzad Alam stepped down from his post, said the hospital in a statement.
The health facility’s board of directors accepted his resignation immediately.
The participants of the meeting reviewed with the “deepest concern, compassion and empathy” the incident involving wrong medication to nine-month old Nishwa and vowed to extend its fullest support for the well being of the baby and her family.
The meeting was briefed about progress on a probe into the incident which it maintained occurred because of “human negligence of a qualified paramedic.”
Fake bank accounts case: NAB arrests Zardari’s close aide Nadeem Bhutto
KARACHI: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) officials have arrested Nadeem Bhutto, in-charge of Bhutto House from Naudero today.
Bhutto is said to be close aide of former president and co-chairman of Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) Asif Ali Zardari.
According to NAB sources, Bhutto is involved in withdrawing money through fake bank accounts.
