Met dept. predicts heatwave in Karachi next week

KARACHI: The metropolitan is likely to be attacked by the heat wave in the second week of May, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicted today.

“Karachiites may experience a heatwave from May 5-8 due to a likely change in the direction of winds,” said Director MET Sardar Sarfaraz in an interview. “Temperature in the city is expected to range from 40 to 42 degrees Celsius.”

He further added that dry winds from the south and south-west will push the mercury up on the scale turning the metropolis weather hot.
