Model Courts decide 116 cases

RAWALPINDI: The model courts which have been set up across the country to provide speedy justice and to clear the massive backlog of cases have decided 116 cases including 51 cases of murder and 86 narcotics.
Director General Supreme Court Monitoring Cell while talking to the Media today said that in order to decide pending cases on priority, statements of 668 witnesses had also been recorded in different cases today.
The DG said that model courts were established on the directives of Chief Justice Supreme Court of Pakistan. The modern technique of proceedings have been adopted to decide old cases of murder and narcotics, he added. He said that the performance of model courts was being assessed on a daily basis.
