Mohsin Dawar remanded in CTD custody for 8 days

PESHAWAR: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Bannu on Thursday remanded Mohsin Dawar, Member National Assembly who was involved in check post attack, in the custody of the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) for eight days.

Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) leader and Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Mohsin Dawar – who was still at large after attacking Kharqamar checkpost that resulted in injuries of five soldiers of Pakistan Army and killing of three attackers on Sunday – was arrested from North Waziristan on Thursday.

Eight attackers among another PTM leader Ali Wazir were arrested on the same day.

Yesterday, Dawar reiterated the demands of the banned outfit Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and terrorists, and said that Pakistan Army should vacate Waziristan.

In an interview to foreign media from an unknown place, Dawar unveiled reason and reality behind the attack on the checkpost.

PTM leader Dr Alam had admitted that party leader Mohsin Dawar led an armed group to storm Kharqamar checkpost in North Waziristan.
