Mohsin Naqvi to be the Caretaker CM of Punjab

ISLAMABAD: PML-N’s nominee Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi (owner of a Media House, who is said to be close to Asif Ali Zardari), has been picked by the ECP as the Caretaker CM of Punjab.

ECP not only issued notification of Mohsin Naqvi’s selection, but also wrote a letter to the Punjab Governor apropos administration of oath to him.

It may be recalled that Sardar Ahmad Nawaz Sukhera and Naveed Akram Cheema were the names proposed by the outgoing CM of the Province Parvez Elahi.

Leader of the Opposition Hamza Shahbaz suggested the names of Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi and Ahad Khan Cheema. Since the Govt and the Opposition failed to achieve a consensus, ECP was asked to elect the Caretaker CM under Clause 3 of Article 224-A of the Constitution.

While PPP’s Asif Ali Zardari held that Mohsin Naqvi had never contested an election and would handle the matters, PTI, terming Mohsin Naqvi a controversial candidate, immediately rejected the decision made anonymously by the ECP.

PTI’s Asad Umar took to the twitter to accuse Mohsin Naqvi as the front man of the Imported Government.
