ISLAMABAD: Madar-e-Millat Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah’s 53rd death anniversary is being observed with reverence and respect all over Pakistan.

Sister of the founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, was born in 1893. Most of the historians believe that she was born in a rented house Wazir Mansion in Kharadar (previously) in Lyari area.
She graduated from the University of Calcutta and went on to become a dental surgeon. After the death of the Quaid’s wife, she shunned her practice and dedicated her life to support Jinnah’s mission.
Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah died in mysterious circumstances on 9th July 1967 and was buried in the premises of the mausoleum of the Quaid.
She had effectively played a role in empowering the women of Pakistan and held that no nation could prosper unless its female populace endeavors side-by-side its male population.
Fatima Jinnah is still remembered for her passionate support for civil rights. She is referred to as the Madar-e-Millat or Mother of the Nation for her dynamic contribution towards the Freedom Movement.
