MOSCOW: Around 188 Pakistani entrepreneurs detained at Moscow airport by Russian authorities for over 18 hours, Pakistan Embassy in Russia confirms Thursday.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to Russia Qazi Khalilullah says over 188 Pakistani businessmen arrived in Moscow on the invitation of a firm to attend annual convention were stopped by immigration officials at the airport. However, the reason for their detention hasn’t been disclosed yet.
“The embassy came to know about the stranded Pakistanis at around 8:00 p.m last night, adding “We have raised the issue with Russian Foreign Ministry.”
According to sources, all the stranded people are mobile dealers and arrived Moscow o have been kept in a room at the airport without food and water.
One of the traders Abdul Mughees said that they were facing trouble as the Russian Embassy had failed to dispatch visa details to Moscow.
The stranded Pakistanis hail from different cities of Pakistan. 80 hail from Karachi, 35 from Lahore and remaining from Islamabad.
The Pakistan’s Ambassador vowed to extend all out support to them.
