MQM-London to hold press conference today

LONDON/KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) London will hold a press conference at Karachi press club today, first ever press conference after the party split into two chapters.

According to details, senior leaders of MQM-London reached KPC to hold a press briefing at 4pm today where they are expected to take the London-based leadership on video call.

The move comes after the party’s senior leader and London convener Nadeem Nusrat on Friday announced the formation of a new Rabita committee.

Nusrat, after consulting other party leaders had announced a 12-member Rabita committee comprising Pakistan-based and overseas leaders loyal to party founder and chief Altaf Hussain.

According to a statement released by the party, the committee included Dr Hasan Zafar Arif, Ishaq Advocate, Momin Khan Momin, Amjadullah Khan, Kunwar Khalid Younus, Ashraf Noor, Akram Rajput, Ismail Sattar and Idress Alvi Advocate from Pakistan while the overseas members included Dr Nadeem Ehsan, Wasay Jalil and Mustafa Azizabadi.

In a video conference, Nusrat said that party’s central executive committee, labour division, women division, Sindh organizational committee, legal aid committee, medical aid committee and other committees belonging to the party’s organisational structure in the country will be announced soon.
