MQM-P candidate wins NA-240 By Polls

KARACHI: MQM-P’s Muhammad Abubakar emerged winner in the by-polls of NA-240 held here on Thursday (13th of June, 2022) by mustering 10683 votes.

Runner-up was TLP’s Shezada Shehbaz who bagged 10,618 votes in the by-polls that was marred by violence. A sixty-year-old man, identified as Saifullah, was shot dead while thirteen others sustained injuries during skirmishes.

Many sustained gunshots whereas others were beaten by batons. PSP and TLP have accused activists of each other parties of resorting to firing.

CM Sindh, while commenting on the incident, stated that the Sindh Govt would not allow anybody to disrupt the tranquility of the polling process. He directed the IGP to take action against the culprits.

Addressing the political parties the CM urged them to manifest responsibility.
