KARACHI: “I did not learn singing it is in my blood”, said the Paris-based Russian-Algerian singer Sherazade.
She was talking exclusively to NewsPakistan.tv on Thursday following a vibrant performance at the patio of Alliance Française here on Thursday (Dec. 1).
Sherazade endeavors to defend women rights through her songs that she writes herself in Russian, Armenian, English, French and Arabic.
Her vocal messages like ‘Do what your heart wishes to do’, ‘Give your best in love and never regret your choice’, ‘A night can change everything’, “Never search for love’ are reinforced by graceful movements radiating zeal, liveliness, joy and freedom.
Sherazade was born in Moscow to a Russian mother and an Algerian father. She moved to Algeria with her family. Following completion of her formal education Sherazade ventured to fathom the profundity of music. She learned to play guitar and formed a couple of bands.
She has created and led a chant and vocal coaching workshop called ‘For the love of the stage’ where she accompanies young amateur singers.
Following her meeting the travelling band LAVIONROSE, recording work at the French Institute of Annaba began with mixing and mastering in France. Then she started touring the world performing concerts.
LAVIONROSE deciphers its music as a dash of rock French song flirting with gypsies and a touch of jazz .
At Alliance Française SHERAZADE’S lyrics were reinforced by the arithmetic of music emanating from bass of Sébastien Duval, drums of Jean Eudes Solignac Lecomte, violin & accordion of Manuel Decocq, piano of Jean Claude Meurisse and guitar of Jérȏme Oeil de
Saleys.
